'The Voice': Blake Shelton And Miranda Lambert Respond To Eric Church's Slam

Blake Shelton & Miranda Lambert Fire Back At Country Star's 'Voice' Slam

"The Voice" doesn't have a fan in country star Eric Church. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Church took issue with reality singing competitions and the prizes awarded.

“It's become 'American Idol' gone mad," Church said, as reported by the blog, Keepin' It Country. "Honestly, if Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green f---ing turn around in a red chair, you get a deal? That’s crazy. I don't know what would make an artist do that. You’re not an artist."

Church also took issue with musicians who become reality show judges. "Once your career becomes something other than the music, then that's what it is," he said. "I'll never make that mistake. I don't care if I f---ing starve.”

Shelton, a coach on "The Voice" and wife Miranda Lambert, a "Nashville Star" contestant in 2003 and mentor on "The Voice," shot back on Twitter.

Church supported Lambert on her 2010 tour Revolution. She thanked Church for the tour on Twitter while naming other reality show competition winners who have made it big in the music industry.

Lambert has been known to speak her mind on Twitter. After Chris Brown's 2012 Grammy performance, Lambert took to the social media platform to question why Brown was allowed to perform twice at the awards show. And after the 2012 ACM Awards, Lambert took issue with Ashton Kutcher's presentation.
