'The Voice' Announces Kelly Clarkson, Alanis Morissette, Robin Thicke & More Advisers For Season 2

Kelly Clarkson, Alanis Morissette & More Join 'The Voice'

Though we've yet to hear the talent pool for the Season 2 of "The Voice" -- which returns for its sophomore season right after the Super Bowl -- it's already bigger and better. This time around, "The Voice" will have not four, but eight amazing advisers helping them.

Joining coaches Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton on Season 2 of "The Voice" (premieres Sun., Feb. 5 at 10 p.m. EST on NBC) are: Lionel Richie, Kelly Clarkson, Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds, Jewel, Miranda Lambert, Alanis Morissette, Ne-Yo and Robin Thicke, according to an NBC press release.

The eight artists, in pairs of two, will lend their expertise during the second phase of the hit reality competition series: Jewel and Richie will work with Team Christina; Babyface and Ne-Yo will work with Team Cee Lo; Morisette and Thicke will work with Team Adam; and Clarkson and Lambert will work with Team Blake, fitting considering the latter is his wife.

The first stage of "The Voice" competition is blind auditions, in which the judges simply listen to the singing hopefuls with their backs to them before they decide whether or not to press the a button and turn their massive Dr. Claw-like chairs around.

Then comes the battle rounds, which is where the famous eight advisers step in. The coaches pit two of their own team members against each other to duet on the main stage. But before they take the stage, the singers' respective coaches and their mentors give them one-on-one training both behind and on the stage. After the round of vocal face-offs, the artists' coach will decide who will move on to the live shows, with the help of their famous advisers.

This season, pop star Christina Milian joins host Carson Daly and the four judges as the Social Media Correspondent, talking to the competitors behind -the-scenes.

"The Voice" premieres Sun., Feb. 5 at 10 p.m. EST on NBC before settling into its regular time slot of Mondays, 8 p.m. EST beginning, Mon, Feb. 6.
