'The X Factor' Changes: L.A. Reid Says Show Will Allow Signed Singers And Groups For Season 2 (VIDEO)

L.A. Reid Details 'X Factor' Season 2 Changes

When "The X Factor" returns for its second season in the fall, the show will have undergone some major changes, including the possible addition of Britney Spears to the judges panel. But Wendesday on "Good Day LA" (weekdays, 7 a.m. PT on Fox) L.A. Reid revealed that the new personnel won't be the only difference between Season 1.

"One way of raising the bar of the talent we're looking for, is that we allow contestants to come in who already have managers and agents. Last year they wouldn't have qualified. This year they do qualify. The whole idea here is to raise the bar for the talent we're going to find," he explained.

Reid also shared something that his fellow judge Simon Cowell is looking for this season: groups. "Simon in particular wants more groups. I just want great talent," Reid quipped.

Speaking of Simon, Reid drew back the curtain on what it's like to work with the bombastic Brit. "A couple times last year I thought I pushed him a little too far, because a couple days went by that he wouldn't speak to me. And then he pushed me one time and I think I may have went a week without speaking to him. But all in all it's great of fun, I really have a lot of respect for Simon, and I'm happy to be doing the show again."
