All Hail Baseball's Curse Breaker: Theo Epstein

"Technically I think Theo Epstein now gets to be president."

Theo Epstein is a national hero.

The Chicago Cubs’ president of baseball operations ― and the mastermind behind the team’s 2016 season and World Series win ― was celebrated early Thursday morning almost as much as the players were.

Drunk Billy Murray showered him with champagne.

ESPN, Major League Baseball and others dubbed him baseball’s official curse breaker (he led the Boston Red Sox to a World Series win in 2004).

A local TV station aired his F-bomb like it was no big deal.

Massachusetts residents would like to remind the world that Epstein grew up in Brookline.

Twitter users built virtual pedestals in his honor.

Many tried to recruit his talents.

Even to solve world crises with the United Nations.

And everyone feels pretty certain he’s bound for the Baseball Hall of Fame.
