WATCH: There's No Such Thing As Multitasking

"Is multitasking the enemy of mindfulness?"

That's the question "Katie" host Katie Couric posed to three panelists during a discussion on the mind-body connection at HuffPost's Third Metric conference last Thursday.

Turns out, there's no such thing as multitasking, the panelists agreed.

So what about those times we swear we're crossing things off the to-do list in record time? "You're just not doing anything well," said Dr. Donna Rockwell, clinical psychologist and mindfulness researcher.

"The Buddha said, 'When you're cooking, cook, when you're eating, eat, when you're sleeping, sleep,'" added Dr. Mark Hyman, chairman of the Institute for Functional Medicine and author of The Blood Sugar Solution."It's common sense."
