This '80s Pop Star's Daughter Nailed Her 'American Idol' Audition

Jennifer Lopez is already a fan.

Singer Brenda K. Starr’s daughter is following in her mother's footsteps.

15-year-old Gianna Isabella wowed on “American Idol” Wednesday, singing a heartfelt rendition of “House of the Rising Sun.”

Gianna credited her mom, an '80s pop star and Latin Grammys nominee, with teaching her everything she knows. “I would say she’s my idol,” Gianna said. “So I just want to show her all her hard work of teaching me is paying off.”

“Your mommy would be proud,” gushed judge Jennifer Lopez, who attended the same dance school as Starr “back in the day.”

Starr, who accompanied her daughter to the Philadelphia tryouts, was then invited into the audition room, where she was reunited with Lopez and given the opportunity to tell the judges what she thought of her daughter.

“I think she’s amazing,” gushed Starr. The judges agreed. They gave the emotional and proud mama the honor of presenting her daughter the coveted ticket to the Hollywood.

Looks like another “American Idol” star is born.
