Mirror, mirror on the wall, play some tunes by Daryl Hall.

Fantasy?

Fairy Tale?

Nope!

The Vezzo Bluetooth Mirror ($395) from Viio Mirrors can play your favorite tunes, answer your phone (and make calls) and show you off in all your glory surrounded by LED surround lighting.

The mirror we played with - - - which is now hanging in my grandkid's bedroom - - - measures 24 by 32 inches and was extremely easy to install. All we had to do was hang it, plug it in and link it to her iPhone via Bluetooth. We also had the option of using the mirror's built-in battery, which the company says can last for up to six hours without needing a recharge. We were able to get about five.

The mirror also features:

  • Two built-in speakers
  • Touch controls for ant-fog, LED surround lighting and Bluetooth pairing
  • A built-in microphone
  • An auxiliary audio port for external speakers

Check out the company's website at http://viiomirrors.com/#prettyPhoto for more information.

Shedding more light on the subject is the SnapPower SwitchLight ($17).

This little gadget replaces any wall-mounted light switch adding what the company calls pathway lighting, which is essentially a small LED light built into the bottom of the switch.

Basically all we had to do was:

  • Turn off the power to the old switch
  • Remove the faceplate
  • Replace it with the SwitchLight

Two prongs on the SwitchLight snap into place, which "pull power" from the existing light switch.

Once it was installed, we were able to adjust the settings of the built-in LED light to low, high, automatic or switch it off. A built-in light sensor activates the light as the room gets dark, giving you, essentially, a wall-mounted night light.
