Us: Where’s the Black Widow movie?

Since her first appearance in “Iron Man 2” six years ago, Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, aka Natasha Romanoff, has starred in four subsequent Marvel movies, handily stealing the show from her male counterparts every damn time.

This summer’s “Captain America: Civil War,” which brought together a cavalcade of new and old superheroes was no different. Romanoff came, she saw, and had to referee a pissing contest between Iron Man and Captain America.

In this deleted scene from Marvel’s latest offering “Civil War,” exclusively released by USA Today on Tuesday, she engages in a verbal tête-à-tête with T’Challa (better known as Black Panther) regarding the capture of the Winter Soldier, Captain America’s childhood BFF turned brainwashed psychopath. The inclusion of the scene in the final film wouldn’t have added much to the grand scheme of the story, but it shows us once again just how badass Black Widow is with and, more importantly without, using her fists.

A solo Black Widow movie has yet to appear on Marvel’s slate of upcoming films, but head honcho Kevin Feige did give fans hope that we could see Widow helm her own film sometime in the future.

“I would say certainly the one creatively and emotionally that we are most committing to doing is Black Widow,” Feige told Deadline in May. “We think she’s an amazing character. We think Scarlett Johansson’s portrayal of her is amazing. She’s a lead Avenger and has amazing stories in her own right to tell that we think would be fun to turn into a standalone franchise.”
