Peter Alden is a single 29-year-old man who works at a 3D interactive software start-up in New York City. He's also a total third wheel, but don't tell him that.
"Collectively, my brother, his fiancée and I are the tripod," said Alden, who runs the Instagram account imnotathirdwheel.
"My brother Ben and I are best friends and lived together for three years," Alden explained to The Huffington Post. "About a year into living together, Ben started dating Marissa. I crashed their third date (brunch!) and realized immediately that Marissa would be my best friend, too." (Sadly for Alden, the couple said "thanks but no, thanks" to his roommate offer when they decided to move in together.)
In any case, they've been inseparable ever since, heading west for vacations in Aspen:

And heading to the movies for one seriously awkward Valentine's Day. ("Just because your friend-couple says they need a night alone doesn't mean they're serious!")
Alden can't help but end up in so many of his besties' pics. "You hang out with a couple long enough, it's bound to happen."
He even helped Ben plan his proposal, though he wasn't present for the actual proposal. "Not my choice," Alden admitted.
The wedding is slated for spring/summer 2016, giving Alden ample time to find a date. Ladies, he's looking for someone who's "fun, smart, caring, beautiful and willing to be a fourth wheel."
And really, who wouldn't want to get in on this action?
