This New Series Is Allowing Trans Youth To Define Beauty On Their Own Terms

A new digital series from LOGO is elevating the stories of trans and gender-nonconforming youth and encouraging them to define beauty on their own terms.

Hosted by transgender model Genna Rocero, "Beautiful As I Want To Be" is available exclusively on LogoTV.com. Each episode spotlights a trans or gender-nonconforming individual paired with a leading voice in the transgender community. The pair then engage in a photo shoot, where the subject is encouraged to capture their own version of authentic beauty.

"I wanted to share with trans youth the power of visualizing an ideal image of themselves and give them the opportunity to create it," Rocero told The Huffington Post. The show, she said, "allows them to do that and the days spent with them felt like a family gathering -- laughing, creating and showing support. They need to know that it's possible to feel that they have support and a system that will help them make their dreams a reality."
