Thomas Standley, 28, Accused Of Assaulting Girlfriend, 92

A 28-year-old man is facing assault charges after allegedly hitting Willie Frances Robinson, his 92-year-old girlfriend.

Thomas Standley was arrested on Wednesday after an incident on Tuesday night at the home he shares with his girlfriend.

Robinson's daughter, Patricia Haynes, who lives next door, called police after she heard her mother screaming, "Let go of me, you're hurting me."

An affidavit obtained by WMC TV says that when Haynes went to check on Robinson, Standley became angry and pushed her out of the door where he and Robinson lived.

Haynes told police her mother kept yelling for Standley to leave her alone.

Robinson told police the conflict started when she didn't want to take her medicine.

Standley allegedly got mad at that and started choking her, squeezing her arms and shaking her, the Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.

Robinson also told officers that Standley, who is her live-in boyfriend, hurts her all the time and she was afraid to call police. She said she lived in fear and that, because she signed over power of attorney to the suspect, she can’t get away from him, according to the affidavit.

Officers arrested Standley on Wednesday and charged him with assault and domestic assault, according to CBS St. Louis. He is currently at the Shelby County Jail and is due in court Thursday.
