Everyone is making videos and throwing them to the wall hoping one will stick. And to be honest the reason behind where you put your video and why, it's the most sensible part of your strategy.

If you spend $$$$ amount of money making a video that explains your product of course you want to make the most of it.

Here are a few keys to make the most out of your strategy and where to post your video.

1. Go YouTube

Being the 2nd biggest search engine on the internet you want to make sure that any promo video is uploaded with correct keywords so people that are looking for your product or service will find you on their first results. If you haven't done this already, I'd suggest that you invest on a SEO keyword research for your business. You can also try google trends or adwords for this.

Do not dream of going viral. I mean, it could still happen but the chances are the same as winning the lottery and to be honest you have to really think out of the box to get there.

Type of videos you should post here:

  • Short promotional videos
  • Short explainer videos
  • Teasers about what you do that have lots of value to your viewer

Remember to include information clickable cards for people to visit your website after watching. This is your call to action and it's the focus of every video you post to youtube.

2. Go Vimeo

Any video that you embed on your website should be on a player that doesn't take them to someone else's video after watching it.

This could be a great platform to use for your landing page video.

Types of videos:
  • Explainers
  • Classes
  • Tutorials
  • Also, any video that lives in your website

The Rise of Facebook

Similar to Youtube, Facebook has done great things with the video capabilities and you can sort of have a good strategy going on.

Concept should go around the same lines as what you are doing with youtube.

Do not post lengthy content and make sure that you are bringing value to your audience. Make sure to keep your videos around 60 seconds for better engagement. Use the Call to Action feature to drive people to your website. Boost your video to your target audience to increase your reach.

*If you have a 15 seconds version/teaser you can also post it to your Instagram.
