Baby Tiger Cubs Debut At Pittsburgh Zoo (VIDEO)

WATCH: Baby Tigers Meet The Public

Two wide-eyed tiger cubs met the public last week at the Pittsburgh Zoo. The cubs are both eight weeks old and healthy.

Weighing in at fifteen pounds, they're a bit tough to hold, and the sharp claws don't help- watch closely in the video to see one cub get his paw caught in a zookeeper's sweatshirt!

While usually wrestling and rambunctious, the adorable cubs sit quietly during this interview with local press. Their eyes dart around curiously, blinking in the new surroundings.

These cubs are Amur (or Siberian) tigers, the world's largest cat species. The tiger is found mostly in forests of eastern Russia. Although together in the zoo, the tiger lives alone in the wild, scent-marking its territory to keep away rivals.

There are less than 400 Amur tigers alive today. It is ranked as an endangered species on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Poaching is one of the main reasons for this dire ranking. Fortunately, we can now add two more to the tiger count in Pittsburgh!
