Tim Howard is a national treasure.

And judging by his high school yearbook quote, the goalkeeper of the U.S. Men's National Team knew he was headed somewhere -- long before Tuesday's game, in which he made the most recorded saves in a World Cup match.

His 1997 yearbook quote, verified by CBS New York, reads, "It will take a nation of millions to hold me back."

Here's a picture of Howard's quote in the North Brunswick Township High School (New Jersey) yearbook:

Buzzfeed speculates the quote may be a reference to Public Enemy's 1988 hip-hop album, which has a similar name.

A "nation of millions," indeed: The population of Belgium, which trumped the U.S. team despite Howard's best efforts, is around 11 million.
