Late Returns: Pawlenty's Fundraising Slapshot

Late Returns: Pawlenty's Fundraising Slapshot

Hey, everyone! Do you enjoy hockey? Probably lots of you do! Now, do you enjoy Tim Pawlenty? Okay, well, for the two of three of you who find yourselves at the intersection of that particular Venn diagram, we have exciting news, from Pawlenty 2012:

Back by popular demand, we are giving you another opportunity to show your support for Gov. Pawlenty with a $100 donation to get your own personalized hockey jersey! The hockey jerseys will be available for a limited time - until midnight on August 12.

Your support goes a long way to make sure the governor does well at the Ames straw poll and beyond. Thank you.

Yes, ahead of the Ames Straw Poll, the Pawlenty campaign is doing everything it can to raise money, and so they are making red, white and blue "T-Paw 12" hockey jersey available for a limited time. Will it ever be available again? Nobody knows! (Also, no one seems to know if we can "short" the value of these jerseys over time, because we would do that, given the chance.)

The added value of wearing a Tim Pawlenty hockey jersey is that your friends and neighbors will know at a glance that you are the type of person who'll blow $100 on just about anything.

The National Organization for Women has risen to the defense of Michele Bachmann, deeming Newsweek's Bachmann cover to be sexist. We say that Newsweek is in clear violation of the third part of the "Catbus Three Point Plan On How to Deal With Michele Bachmann Without Being a Sexist Asshole." [Daily Caller]

Bill Kristol has grown so despondent about the fact that Paul Ryan, Marco Rubio, Chris Christie, and Jeb Bush aren't running for president that he's writing emo poetry about it. It's not a particularly good poem, but it's actually refreshing to read some verse written by a poet who's not nakedly campaigning to win the PEN/Voelcker prize. [The Weekly Standard]

Tim Pawlenty is now polling behind Thad McCotter in one state. Yes, it's McCotter's home state of Michigan. But still. [TPMDC]

Mike Huckabee will be at the Ames Straw Poll, slappin' the bass in support of Herman Cain. (While his daughter, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, stumps for Pawlenty.) [TPMDC]
