'Today' Show's Set Gets Makeover (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: 'Today' Gets New Set

The "Today" show is about to debut its new look, and gave viewers a glimpse of Studio 1A on Thursday.

The show shared photos of the "Orange Room," a new addition where Carson Daly will hear from viewers, and its new sofa set. The latter — a more mod-looking space with an orange couch, a geometric-patterned rug and a table with a chrome base — is a dramatic departure from the former set, which had a more subdued purple and beige palette.

Meanwhile, the new anchor desk, which will be able rotate so that the hosts can face viewers, will be arriving over the weekend.

The hosts of "Today" bid farewell to the old set, which has been in use for seven years, in August. Lead set designer Jeremy Conway and his team completed the re-design in 30 days.

The makeover is part of a larger shakeup for the NBC News morning show, which has struggled to regain its place in the ratings. "Today" announced the addition of Daly as a host on Thursday, and replaced its longtime director in June.
