Tom Brokaw: Rick Santorum Is 'Like A Character In A Bruce Willis Movie' (VIDEO)

Tom Brokaw made an unexpected comment about Rick Santorum during MSNBC's coverage of the Michigan primaries on Tuesday, saying that the GOP presidential candidate was "like a character in a Bruce Willis movie."

Brokaw was speaking before the race was called for Romney, but he had things to say about the eventual winner as well.

Romney, he said, was "not prepared for the unexpected on the campaign trail." He also compared Romney to George H.W. Bush, another wealthy candidate with a tendency for gaffes. But he said Bush was able to win because he had a "warm relationship" with the public that Romney does not.

Then he brought out his filmic analogy for Santorum.

"He's like a character in a Bruce Willis movie," he said. "He just knows how to stay alive. He's running through the jungle, fighting back, shooting from the hip, takes a lot of hits, stays angry the entire time, and he is giving a voice to a lot of people out there whose lives have been completely upended."
