Tommy Page, a veteran music executive and former pop singer, has died. He was 46.
The Village Voice, where Page worked as vice president of music partnerships, confirmed his death in a report Saturday.
Billboard.com editorial director Denise Warner said Page was found dead Friday in New York. No official cause of death has been reported, but Billboard, citing “reports from several friends,” says it was an apparent suicide.
Page, born and raised in New Jersey, was probably best known for his 1990 hit single “I’ll Be Your Everything,” which he co-wrote with Jordan Knight and Danny Wood of New Kids on the Block. The track, which reached No. 1 on the music charts in April 1990, spent 13 weeks in the Top 40.
In all, Page recorded nine studio albums. In 1992, he appeared as himself on an episode of “Full House.”
Page later became a successful music industry executive. During his time at Warner Bros. Records, he helped shape the careers of Michael Buble, Alanis Morissette, Josh Groban and Green Day, among other artists.
A graduate of New York University’s Stern School of Business, Page joined Billboard in 2011 as an associate publisher and was promoted to publisher within a year.
“We are all mourning the loss of our friend and colleague, Tommy Page,” Billboard Entertainment Group President John Amato said, per The Associated Press. “He was a magnetic soul and a true entertainer.”
Page also worked as vice president at Pandora and senior vice president at Cumulus Media.
In January, Page tweeted that he was “working on new music.”
He’s survived by his partner, Charlie, and their three children.
