In a revealing and personal interview with People magazine, Toni Tennille opened up about her marriage to Daryl Dragon, aka "the Captain."

"I never met another man I thought could measure up to him," she told the magazine of Dragon, whom she says suffered with anxiety.

Tennille, now 75 and living in Florida, admitted that life with her then-husband wasn't easy. It also wasn't filled with love.

"It was never tender, it was never emotional, it was never a joining of two hearts," she explained. "Sex is not love. That's why I eventually said, 'To heck with this.'"

But still, Tennille, who's currently promoting a new self-titled memoir, considered Dragon to be "the one" and says their divorce was "amicable."

The couple called it quits back in 2014 after 39 years of marriage. They married in 1975, the same year they released their album (and song), "Love Will Keep Us Together."
