What do you get when you cross a puppy and a teddy bear? Tonkey.
Tonkey is a fluffy bearcoat shar-pei that looks like a stuffed animal and is all sorts of adorable. So it makes sense that her owner, Christine Park, would create an Instagram account for her little furball. Park, who lives in Edmonton, Canada, wrote on Bored Panda this week that she created the account eight weeks ago to make some friends -- but now Tonkey is the one getting all the attention.
"If I could say one thing to my dearest Tonkey, it would be this: I love you, dogchild, don’t forget we started from the bottom; I am trying my best to be happy for you," she wrote.
Park and her husband, Dave, have another dog named Maxi, whom they call Tonkey's "big sister." In an email to The Huffington Post on Friday, Park wrote:
Tonkey is always the most interesting part of our day! She has a fearless playfulness about her, and it's hilarious to witness, especially in contrast to Maxi's more mellow approach to life. Max & Tonkey are never far apart, though. They're best friends and and loyal sisters:).
Dave and I are thrilled at the positive and enthusiastic response to Tonkey’s Instagram account. We hope it leads to some great opportunities to offer our aid/support in the world of our fur-friends.
