Our favorite television charmer is making our dreams come true with his latest project.

Netflix announced a new original dramedy starring none other than the legendary Tony Danza. In “The Good Cop,” the 66-year-old actor will star as a former NYPD officer who pairs up with his detective son. The duo are an odd-couple pairing, as Danza’s character has never followed the rules and tries hard to loosen up his overly cautious son.

And yes, their names are Tony and Tony Jr., because what would Danza be if not a Tony?

“Monk” creator Andy Breckman will serve as showrunner, so Netflix subscribers can expect a good balance of humor and drama over the first season’s 10 episodes. A release date has yet to be announced.

“Many cop shows feature dark and provocative material: psycho-sexual killers, twisted, grim, flawed detectives,” Breckman said in a statement. “Many address the most controversial issues of the day. I watch a lot of them. God bless ‘em all. But the show I want to produce is playful, family-friendly and a celebration of old-fashioned puzzle-solving.”

Danza has snagged an executive producer credit along with Randy Zisk, another “Monk” alum, and Howard Klein from “The Office.”

It’s been 25 years since “Who’s the Boss?” left our television screens, and we think we’re all ready for Tony Danza to come back into our lives.
