Tonya Harris, 34-Year-Old Cafeteria Employee Arrested For Sexually Assaulting Teen At Party In Colorado

A 34-year-old food service employee was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a minor at a party in Colorado nearly a year ago.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office says it first learned of the assault on the 17-year-old male in February but that the case was inactive at the time due to a lack of leads. The investigation resumed last week however, when authorities received a tip through SAFE2TELL that school district employee Tonya Harris had sex with the student at a party. Sheriff's deputies also say that Harris may have given alcohol to minors at the party.

Investigators say that Harris is a food service worker in Falcon School District 49 and is being held on $3,000 bond for sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, both felonies.

According to FOX 31 Denver, Harris has been placed on administrative leave.
