TGIF everyone, here's my Top 5 for February 11, 2011 from Len Berman at ThatsSports.com.

1. Quick Hits

* A lockout is looming larger March 4th as NFL owners and players can't agree on, what else, money.
* Truly the end of an era. Jerry Sloan has resigned as coach of the Utah Jazz. He was the longest tenured pro coach, working since 1988. Assistant Tyrone Corbin takes over.
* Boston's Ray Allen became the all time 3-point shooter (2,561) in last night's 92-86 loss to the Lakers.
* American League MVP Josh Hamilton of Texas signs a two year, $24-million contract.
* Hockey player Mike Fisher was traded from Ottawa to Nashville. His wife is country superstar Carrie Underwood. Talk about a marriage of convenience.

2. Mario on Deck

Here's some good news for Mets fans, a former minor league center fielder in the Pirates organization is stepping up to the plate. Former New York Governor Mario Cuomo has been appointed to mediate the dispute between the Madoff trustee and the Wilpons. The Mets organization is in a state of paralysis waiting to see what the fallout from the Madoff Ponzi scheme will be. The sooner this gets resolved, the sooner the Wilpons can get back to running a baseball team.

3. Viral Video

We've gone video mad. If all these videos had existed during my 20 plus years of Spanning the World on television, it would have been so much easier. Down below you'll see a U-Conn quarterback making a big name for himself. And it's spread to all sports. Check out the Summer Skills Video put out by New Zealand's All Blacks Rugby Team. Very cool!

4. Friday eMailbag

Not everybody loved the Super Bowl. D. R. writes: "You mean these are the two best teams in the NFL? No way! In truth, it was a sloppy, boring game made interminable by all the sophomoric ads. A year without a Super Bowl in 2012 might just be a good thing."

G. L. wasn't a fan of the Black Eyed Peas at halftime "Standing on the edge of a stage just yelling at a bunch of sperm-like mosh pitters did not do it for me."

As for A-Rod being unhappy that he was shown on camera being fed popcorn by Cameron Diaz, and reportedly demanding that FOX not show him again, G.A. asks, "Is it just a blanket request? Can they no longer show him on their Saturday game of the week, the All-Star Game and (God forbid he should get there) the World Series?"
Editor's Note: G.A. is a Mets fan.

As for the college coach who gave his player a kidney, C.A. writes on Facebook, at "Len Berman's Top 5, "He's obviously going to be playing favorites. I mean... who doesn't want to see their kidney succeed?"

And from J.G. on Facebook "Will the Mets have a Madoff bobblehead doll day this year? It comes with a matching guillotine."
Editor's Note: For the doll, I hope.

5. Spanning The World

This week's Spanning the World highlight comes from U-Conn. We've seen lots of basketball trick shot artists, but what about football?

Wow, how can you get the job being the "William Tell" receiver?

Have a great weekend everyone.
