New York Fashion Week Fall 2016 has been eventful but exquisite to say the least.
We’ve seen Gigi kill it strutting in Tommy Hilfiger, NeNe Leakes end Malan Breton’s show in a $1 million dress, and Alexander Wang made a statement collaborating with Adidas.
We’ve also seen many designers embracing what the world is actually made up of. There are many designers embracing African American’s natural hair and the right to wear it, which is something that might not have happened in the past.
Christian Siriano (one of my personal favorites) casted five plus size women size 12 and above to walk in his show. He did this, not for social media, but because it’s important to show diversity on the runway.
This season there are many simple beauty and hair trends that are easy to replicate for anyone. Take a look at the top three beauty trends from NYFW you can wear any day of the week:
Many celebrities are doing this, but one of the first we noticed was Kim K at the VMAs. The “fresh face” look is what we saw the most on the runway and this is a great look to wear everyday. Oddly enough, as popular as contouring and highlighting are, NYFW designers showed us that actually less is more.
High ponytails definitely have come in and out of style. Most recently we’ve seen Beyonce’ slaying a gigantic high ponytail during her “Formation Tour.” This hair style was the theme during the Nicholas K show, where all of the models owned the runway with their ponytails swinging.
Bold eye shadow is a great way to add a little pop of color to spice up your outfit. It’s going to be warm in New York for a while longer so we have a little bit more time to rock this look. In warm places like Florida, you definitely can wear this look year round. Try out Beauty Bakerie, one of my favorite beauty brands, that has smudge-less bold eye shadows and liners.
Fall Fashion Week is ending this week, but you can look out for some more beauty trends by streaming your favorite shows live on NYFW.com.
