
At no point in the NFL's history have teams put such a premium on the shutdown cornerback. Why? Because if you can eliminate a quarter of the field, you then significantly reduce the offense's ability to be creative and score points. With the rise of the passing game, defenses need guys who can cover the elite receivers in today's game.
