Pride is just around the corner and Logo TV is launching an incredible new initiative to honor some of biggest individuals who have broken new ground on the quest for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality.

'Trailblazers' is slated to be a one-hour special airing on Logo that features celebrities, politicians, activists and trendsetters actively working towards changing our culture for the betterment of the LGBT community, as well as performances by some of today's most prominent musicians.

The special itself will premiere on Thursday, June 26 -- the week of the 45th anniversary of the historic Stonewall riots and the one year anniversary of the Supreme Court striking down the Defense Of Marriage Act. In recognition of this, "Trailblazers" is slated to honor Edie Windsor and Roberta Kaplan for their work within this endeavor for marriage equality.

“Through their courage, Edie and Roberta redefined an institution to make it open to everybody. Like the greatest civil rights pioneers, they secured a basic human freedom for all of us,” Stephen Friedman, President of MTV and Logo, said in a statement. “Each of our honorees has stood up for LGBT equality in a way that has helped change history. Whether they’re acting on the national stage or in their home towns, whether they’re activists, athletes or artists, their fearlessness in confronting the obstacles of today creates a more just and equal society for tomorrow.”

Among the celebrities billed to make an appearance on the one-hour special are Daniel Radcliffe, Jared Leto, Kylie Minogue, Ariana Grande, Rita Ora, Iggy Azalea, and Mary Lambert.

"Trailblazers" also aims to honor local heroes for their work for the LGBT community. Logo is asking that viewers nominate their friends, family, and community leaders who have made a profound personal difference in their lives. Five local leaders will be featured on the “Trailblazers” website and one Hometown Trailblazer will win a trip with their submitter to the “Trailblazers” awards show. Head here for more information.
