Travelistas Take On Deep Dish Pizza and Step Dancing In Chicago

The Travelistas Take On Chicago For A Girlfriends' Getaway

Travelistas Teri and Andrea are back again with yet another fun girlfriends' getaway. This time, the two adventure seekers decided to hit Chicago, Illinois. Described as "the hottest city in the Mid-West" by the Travelistas, Chi-Town provided Teri and Andrea with ample opportunities for great sights, fantastic food, smooth sounds and more.

The Travelistas kicked off their journey at the famous Magnificent Mile strip in Chicago, where they reveled in the "soaring architecture." Eager to spend some time at the John G. Shedd Aquarium, they donned a set of rubber waders and headed into the water to play with some friendly beluga whales.

Later, Teri met up with former NFL player-turned-entrepreneur Jarrett Payton, the son of former Chicago Bears player Walter Payton, one of the most prolific running backs in NFL history. Payton, a Chicago local, informed Teri that she had made the right choice in visiting the windy city.

"You can't get any better than being here," said Payton.

The former football player shared personal tips and suggestions with Teri about where to head next, including Lou Malnati's Pizzeria. At the 41-year-old family owned establishment, Andrea was able to make her own traditional deep dish pizza.

Dance classes came next on Teri and Andrea's full plate. Cynthia Shanks and Stan Bailey taught them step dancing, "a smooth, soulful style of dance" created in 1970, as described by the Travelistas.

They capped off their Chicago girlfriends getaway by hitting up the Annual Rib Festival and the Chicago Blues Festival, the largest free blues festival in the world.
