Travyon Martin's parents plunged into the media frenzy surrounding George Zimmerman's acquittal on Thursday morning, appearing on all three major broadcast morning shows.
It is a painful reality about major American court cases: When your son is shot to death and the man who shot him is declared not guilty, you then have to go on television to discuss how you feel about it. So Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin sat down with George Stephanopoulos on "Good Morning America," with Charlie Rose and Norah O'Donnell on "CBS This Morning," and with Matt Lauer on "Today." Later, they will sit down with Anderson Cooper.
Fulton and Martin have probably not appeared this much on television since the first weeks after Trayvon Martin was killed. They maintained their composure as they were asked over and over again about the verdict, and about Juror B37, who said Zimmerman was justified in shooting their son.
The shows were clearly watching each other; no interview appeared at the same time, though two of them were apparently pre-recorded.
