Trevor Noah Uses Destiny's Child To Make The Case For Obamacare

Obamacare needs healthy people to "subsidize" the sick -- like Beyonce did for her Destiny's Child colleagues.

Obamacare customers are facing big premium hikes next year, but comedian Trevor Noah said he thinks it’s because Americans still don’t understand how the health care law is supposed to work.

The Daily Show” host had the perfect explanation on Thursday’s episode. Even better, it involves Destiny’s Child.

“For insurance to remain affordable, you need healthy people to subsidize the sick people,” Noah explained. “It’s the same way [Destiny’s Child members] Beyonce and Kelly [Rowland] subsidized Michelle [Williams].”

The audience groaned at the idea that Williams’ solo career was a failure compared with the others, but Noah didn’t back down.

“Yeah, like you bought her album,” he jeered. “Act like you bought Michelle’s album. You judging me? Like we didn’t all make those jokes?”
