Trevor Project Volunteers Share How They Thrive In The Face Of Adversity

How These Amazing People Thrive In The Face Of Adversity

Tonight Arianna Huffington will receive the Hero Award at the Trevor Project's star-studded TrevorLIVE NY event.

Abbe Land, Executive Director & CEO of The Trevor Project, revealed that the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to queer youth and young adults is honoring Huffington not only for "long support of the LGBT community as an ally and as the founder of the community's most visible and unifying media outlet, Huffington Post Gay Voices," but also for living and preaching "a mantra of well-being, building personal connections, and being true to yourself, which aligns with Trevor's ethos.”

That mantra is at the heart of Huffington's most recent book, the New York Times bestseller, Thrive, which was released earlier this year.

In honor of Arianna's award and the incredible work that The Trevor Project does, we asked a handful of amazing volunteers who work with the organization to share a specific moment when they were challenged and how they thrived in the face of adversity. We also learned a few tips from them for living as one's full, true self. Check out the slideshow below.
