1. Trombone World Record At Nationals Park
This is the way to promote a show. "The Music Man" is currently being performed at Arena Stage. One of the most well-known songs from the musical is "76 Trombones." Since it's fun to set world records and to make loud sounds, Arena, alone with FAME (The Foundation for the Advancement of Music & Education, Inc.) are teaming up to recruit 500 trombone players to set a world record. To make this evening complete, participants are welcome to stay and watch the Nats/Braves game. Loud noises, a world record and baseball? That's America. 5 p.m., all ages, admission to the game
2. Natasha Leggero At Arlington Drafthouse

4. National Donut Day
The pastry that makes people happy, donuts should be celebrated year round. Since today is their day, Dunkin' Donuts is giving away a donut with a beverage purchase (coffee, don't get anything besides their coffee) and Krispy Kreme is giving them away with no purchase. You should probably get coffee with your free doughnut.
5. Comedy Night At Comet Ping Pong
There are more than enough places to see alternative stand up, but sketch and improv, for the masses or the weird kids, isn't very easy to find. Besides Source and Woolly Mammoth, there aren't many places to see improv on a consistent basis. If this show at the pizza place/music venue goes well, it may develop into a new home for the comedic genre. Local groups Jive Turkey, The Punctual Drunks and Small Town will perform. 10 p.m., 18+, $10

1. Sound Scene at Goethe-Institut
This years ambitious Sound Scene interactive audio installation, "Cycles Circuits Revolutions," brings together live music (Buildings, Trumpet Grrl, more), listening stations and interactive displays. 7 p.m., all ages, $10 suggested donation
2. Curren$y at Howard Theatre
One of the highlights at last year's Pitchfork Music Festival, the New Orleans-based Curren$y just realsed his fifth and sixth albums. This tour date celebrates those releases. 11 p.m., all ages, $20 to $25
3. Taste of Georgetown
Since Friday's weather is dreadful and most adventurous folks will spend the evening indoors, this outdoor event will allow people to get in a nice walk and the chance to eat out. Enjoy street fests before it's too humid to want to be outdoors. 11 a.m., all ages, $5 tasting tickets
4. First Fruits At Takoma Park
Before it gets sweltering, take advantage of the relatively nice weather. This nature walk from Matt's Habitats will teach a small group how to identify edible plants, something that could come in handy thanks to the imminent zombie apocalypse. 9 a.m., all ages, $20
5. Girls Rock! DC Fundraiser At Acre 121
All donations collected from this evening of performances from Frankie & Betty, J Street, More AM Than FM, G.U.T.S., Mzry Lvs Company, Glitterlust will go towards Girls Rock!, an annual summer camp for young women. 8 p.m., 21+, $10 suggested donation
