'True Life' Returns To MTV With New Episodes On December 28

'True Life' Returns With New Episodes

MTV's Emmy winning docu-series, "True Life" (returns Wed., Dec. 28 at 10:00 p.m. ET), is back with all new episodes just in time to celebrate the new year. From dysfunctional families, to physical disabilities and social movements, "True Life" will continue to explore the everyday challenges and stuggles that young people face.

It looks like the MTV series is bringing back some of their most colorful characters by kicking things off with the rough-and-tumble Theriot family in "True Life Presents: The Theriot Family: The Riot in the Bayou 2."

Think of the Theriot clan as the real-life version of the fictional Gallagher family in Showtime's "Shameless." Sex, partying, and debauchery are a way of life for the Theriots, and this one-hour special will see the family -- and Mama Tiff -- stretched to its limits.

"True Life" will then tackle the intense High School wrestling scene at Lake Stevens High in "True Life Presents: On the Mat" (premieres Wed., Jan. 4 at 10 p.m. ET). With seven Washington State championships under their belts and a demanding coach to deal with, the Lake Stevens High School wrestlers always feel the pressure to be the best, and this year, losing isn't an option. MTV will follow them on their way to reclaim their title.

But that's not all. "True Life" has these other upcoming episodes in the works:

"True Life: I Can't Please My Parents" (airs Wed., Jan. 11 at 8 p.m. ET)

"True Life: I’m a Chubby Chaser" (airs Wed., Jan. 11 at 9 p.m. ET)

"True Life: I Have Diabetes" (airs Wed., Jan. 18 at 11 p.m. ET)
