Since assuming office, Donald Trump is not letting a day pass without issuing a controversial decision. He signed an executive order pulling the US out of Trans-Pacific Partnership, another to move forward with the construction of the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines. He then signed an executive order to start construction of the wall with Mexico and forced Mexican president to cancel his visit to Washington after saying that if (Mexico): is "unwilling to pay for the badly needed wall, then it would be better to cancel the upcoming meeting." The cherry on the top was his executive order banning refugees and people from 7 countries of Muslim-majority from entering the United States.Almost all of his orders sparked outrage and protests around the globe, but perhaps that’s exactly why we should thank him.

Our world became plagued with unprecedented political divisiveness leading to leap in hate crimes, racism and xenophobia, however the solidarity many people showed in the aftermath of Trump’s infuriating orders should restore our faith in humans who are willing to come together and support those in need from any nationality, race or religion.

The moment the news spread about the ban on immigration thousands of people showed up at JFK Airport to protest. Lawyers decided to volunteer help to people who became stuck in a legal limbo caused by the ban.

Hundreds decided to delete Uber app after accusations that it profited from a New York taxi driver strike at JFK airport in protest at Trump’s immigration ban.

Ashton Kutcher, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Mahershala Ali, William H Macy and many Hollywood stars took a stand against the ban at the Screen Actors Guild awards in Los Angeles.

British rabbis condemned the travel ban as “inciting and legalising hatred” against Muslims just days after the world marked Holocaust Memorial Day.

Many companies showed solidarity with those affected by the ban like Starbucks and Airbnb.

And then there was this amazing picture by Chicago Tribune photographer Nuccio DiNuzzo who was covering the O'Hare International Airport protests. A Muslim father with his daughter protesting side by side with a Jew father carrying his son. Absolute beauty.
