RAMALLAH, in the West Bank — Palestinian protesters and Israeli soldiers are now clashing behind the decision by current U.S. President Donald Trump to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. In addition, President Trump also announced during a national press conference that he would move the U.S. embassy from the current location to Jerusalem.

According to a report from the Guardian News-“Trump’s action signals disdain for the opinion of the whole Arab world. Whatever Arab dictators and absolute monarchs may tell the Americans they depend on, the Arab peoples are unanimous in supporting the Palestinian position on Jerusalem.”

For many advocates who want peace in the Middle East this move is not only controversial but many believe the move to be ill advised. Those in the region-are now experiencing tear gas strikes, stone throwing, stun grenades, flag burning, and tires as well as structures are being set on fire. (picture,above)

For the record-the protesters anger is widely directed at the America, Israel, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and obviously Donald Trump. The Palestinian Authority is calling for progressive general strikes or “intifada,” meaning (tremors), in Palestinian cities and, in Gaza. These uprisings, directed against Israel.

The State Department updated its “worldwide caution” advice late Wednesday and sent a internal cable deferring non-essential travel to Israel, Jerusalem and the West Bank through Dec. 20, officials cited growing concerns.

Trump stated his rationale for the move "We cannot solve our problems by making the same failed assumptions and repeating the same failed strategies of the past," expecting to further the peace process in the region-he said on Thursday. But instead of enhancement of the "peace process" in the Middle East-most believe Trump to have done just the opposite-which in cause worldwide disturbance.

For the record Trump,was warned against this step by Arab, Middle Eastern and European leaders, and has now made resolving the conflict over Palestine much harder-also Trump's decision” could become a "legitimate reason" to attack U.S. forces.

The region is now bracing for escalated civil unrest over the course of the next few days. (glg)
