The #MuslimBan for dummies :

Is this ban for refugees only or all immigrants?
-This ban does NOT affect refugees only. It does affect ALL immigrants and NON- immigrant visas from 7 Muslim majority countries: Iraq, Iran, Syria, Somalia, Yemen, Sudan & Libya .

Is this ban temporary or permanent?
- Although the ban order is TEMPORARY (for 90 days only), it has the potential to be extended & maybe expanded to include other countries according to the outcome of the DHS review.

So, what is going to happen during these 90 days?
-Within the first 30 days: The Secretary of Homeland Security is required to conduct a whole review of the visa issuance process and submit a report to both the Secretary of State and intelligence agencies.
-Within the last 60 days: Based on the DHS report, the Secretary of State shall contact all foreign governments to comply with outcome of the report with regards to providing background information on their nationals who are seeking U.S. visas.

So, what is going to happen after the 90 days?
- There is a BIG chance that the list might expand to INCLUDE OTHER COUNTRIES that do not comply with the new requirement:
"The Secretary of Homeland Security, in consultation with the Secretary of State, shall submit to the President a list of countries recommended for inclusion on a Presidential proclamation that would prohibit the entry of foreign nationals"
&
"the Secretary of State or the Secretary of Homeland Security may submit to the President the names of any additional countries recommended for similar treatment."

So, how long will it take to get the final list of the banned countries?
- 120 Days & 4 reports (one report each 30 days)

What about the green card holders (Residents but not citizens)?
- People holding so-called green cards, making them legal permanent U.S. residents, are included in President Donald Trump's executive action temporarily barring people from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States, a Department of Homeland security spokeswoman said on Saturday to Reuters.
"It will bar green card holders," Gillian Christensen, acting Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman, said in an email.
Lawyers advise all Muslim green card holders to stay in the US and postpone any travel plans for now.

Finally, Where can I get legal help?
- There are many organizations working 24/7 to help immigrants & refugees with this legal mess. Some of these legal services are free. Please contact your local organization if you need help.
