Tupac's Death Anniversary Is Today. Let's Listen To 'Changes' (VIDEO)

Tupac Died 15 Years Ago Today

Almost exactly five years after Tupac Shakur died, 9/11 happened. Then came the wars, George Bush's second term, Katrina, the economic crash, Barack Obama's victory, and the continuing turmoil we find ourselves in. Today is the fifteenth anniversary of Tupac's death, and it's as good a time as any to revisit his posthumous anthem, "Changes."

Take the evil out the people, they'll be acting right. 'Cause mo' black than white is smokin' crack tonight. And only time we chill is when we kill each other. It takes skill to be real, time to heal each other. And although it seems heaven sent, we ain't ready to see a black President, uhh.

There it is -- the most obvious change since Tupac's day. Who knows what he would have made of President Obama's contentious term? (Maybe the line would still apply). To honor his memory without smoking his ashes (which, calm down Outlawz guys,...we gave you high marks), let's sift through Tupac's time capsule of nineties grievances and ponder how little or how much has changed.
