#TurkishStyle is more than just a cool hashtag on instagram. If you happen to notice some of the trendiest globetrotters around the world posting pics from the city of Istanbul, it's no coincidence. Turkey is the sixth most traveled to country in the world. And it is definitely one of the trendiest travel destinations for the young, chic and stylish. Istanbul, the most populous city in Istanbul, is also home to a unique melting pot of Turkish natives, European implants and American expats. A true urban cosmopolitan city, Istanbul gives the city that never sleeps a run for its money. Its a very busy place and the traffic can stand right up there with Los Angeles' route 405. Yet it is the youthful and fresh nature of such a historic city that makes it so unique. Istanbul has more millennials per capita than any other European city. In fact more than half of the population in Turkey is under the age of 31.

That is probably why it's the stomping ground for some of the chicest millennial travelistas around the globe. While perusing your Instagram feed, perhaps you spotted media maven and Dare to Wear host Tai Beauchamp posing in front of Soho House Istanbul.

Or perhaps you peeped the curly coif of travel blogger René Daniella visiting the Nuruosmaniye Camii.

And maybe you even saw me in front of one of my favorite sites, the Suleymaniye Mosque.

Istanbul is a magnet for the cool, the artsy and the fabulous. I guess that's why it's no coincidence that Istanbul played host to top art curators, journalists and enthusiasts for Beinali--a contemporary art exhibit that attracts people from all over the world to experience art throughout the cityscape of Turkey.

Check me out in front of artist, Adrian Villar Rojas' breathtaking piece "The Most Beautiful of all Mothers".

I have to admit, as a first time traveler to the country of Turkey, I thought the locals would be much more conservative. However, I was pretty surprised to find some of the world's most stylish people shopping the chic streets of Nisantasi and Karakoy. These districts are a must see for the fashion enthusiast. Sure your average tourist will visit the Sophia Hagia, and the Blue Mousque. They may even sit at a table in Europe glancing over the Bosphorus at Asia while dining. Those are must see sites for any Istanbul visitor.

But the fashion traveler must do what we do best--shop!

Here is who I found shopping the streets of Istanbul.
