Turner Gill: Kansas' Next Head Coach Per Report

Turner Gill will be named the next head coach of the Kansas Jayhawks football team, reported first by Jason King of Yahoo! Sports.

The report was confirmed by KUSports and ESPN. The 47-year-old Gill, who went 20-30 as head coach of the University at Buffalo, will replace Mark Mangino for the position.

Gill gained national attention when he took the Bulls to an unexpected MAC Title in 2008. He told his team this past week that he was interested in the Kansas position and it would be the best fit for him and his family.

Gill apparently beat out Stanford Coach Jim Harbaugh and Ole Miss coach Tommy Tuberville for the position.
