Life sure does put obstacles in our way. Sometimes there is no avoiding them.

Have you ever had to face one yourself?

Or

Did you doubt yourself that you could get through and overcome it?

My life mantra is “Out of darkness comes colour” it came about because of the obstacles in my own life journey that I had to face.

Today I wanted to go deep into the dungeons of my life and talk about my own journey and how I empowered myself through a huge life obstacle and how I learnt to fly again.

I was twenty three when my life changed forever, for it was that age that I started to get really ill. My body literally wasn’t able to digest most things. Not long after, I was a skeletal mass of my former self, weighing in at forty three kilograms which is about six and half stone and I was experiencing severe pain in parts of my body. No one could give me any explanations as to why this was happening.

My life stopped, I had been derailed at Pause Mode station, and my family and I did not know whether I would be around for my next birthday.

The whole experience had me on my knees in every sense, my mind; body and spirit were totally broken. I could no longer spread my wings and fly.

I didn’t know it at the time but I had eleven more years of arriving and pulling in at different stations of this journey. The obstacle was an undiagnosed and unmanaged connective tissue disorder. It robbed me of so many things, my most fertile years, and my identity in every sense.

It took four operations, countless tests, until I was living and well again.

I was robbed and truly tested.

Well so I thought…………………..

Had I a crystal ball back then I would see myself nineteen years later and I would be recovered and standing in a space where my body was immersed with the vibration of gratitude within me. My blue eyes would be staring at a sea of faces of people who had or were suffering with cancer and other debilitating disorders and I would be telling them my story.

This, my fellow spirited beauties, truly happened to me last month. I had no idea that my story would both inspire them and reduce my audience to have tear drops roll down their faces.

So without further ado: I would like to share with you the following twelve amazing tools that helped me.

Twelve ways you can fly again when obstacles knock you down

1.-Colour therapy-

Colour has helped me to release old patterns. I have used it in a variety of ways. Colouring Therapy, wearing it, meditating with it etc.

2.-Gratitude-

Gratitude is such an important emotion to honour. On a daily basis I remember to be grateful for the smallest of things each day, including things like brushing my hair.

3.-Meditation-

Meditation has helped me to be mindful on every level. I have tried assorted meditations, from Buddhist, colour, chakra, and relaxation ones, so find one that works best for you.

4.-Self-development-

Self-development and education has been vital. I educated myself with every tool and course that was available to me, all of which related to my mind, body and spiritual health and wellbeing.

5.-Affirmations-

Affirmations have been pivotal, positive reinforcements have made a huge difference in my life.

6.-Journaling-

Writing allowed me to release things then and there as well as reflect on where I had been.

7-Visualisations-

I use to visualise myself as an older woman wearing a yellow jacket; it relieved me of a lot of anxieties.

8.-Self-love-

I learnt to love and be gentle with myself, from buying myself nice night wear, or purchasing a meditation cd.

9.-Chakra healing work-

This one was profound for me. I found that blocks that I had from an array of areas and issues in my life just melted away ever so quickly once I started working on my chakras. It sure freed my body and awakened my true spiritual self.

10.-Crystals-

Crystals were and still are my best friends; I would bring them into the hospital and just generally carry them around or wear them as well. Their properties give me strength.

11.-Therapy-

I personally found it beneficial. Talking to someone helped me to deal with and release all those issues and fears that I was holding inside me.

12.-Connecting with the Angels-

My divine angels got me through my darkest days. The two main angels I worked with were Archangel Raphael, the AA of healing and Archangel Michael; the AA of protection, Michael helped me to cut the cords of the past and to all the things that no longer served a purpose.

All these things I used are vessels and tools that will allow you as it did for me to channel your inner goddess. Life is going to throw obstacles at us, but we are the ones who have to choose whether we are going to spread our wings and fly again and whether we are going to rise and allow ourselves, to heal, to shine and to embrace a life that we truly and mindfully love to live!

My obstacles were the things that made me and are the reason why today I walk on a new road in life. Each foot step that I take is one of resilience, gratitude, courage, compassion, empathy and happiness that I am still here to tell you my story today.

I would like to leave you with this amazing quote to reflect on by Christian D. Larson.
