The Huffington Post came up with this inspiring #TalkToMe initiative encouraging conversations between generations. So we tried to have one with my famous daughter Tirael Cohen. We talked about two generations of entrepreneurs.
Tirael is a social entrepreneur which started Kedma Student Villages, an association establishing student villages within low-income communities in Israel.
I am the co-founder and CEO of a Boston-based hi-tech company, harmon.ie, which humanizes technology so regular human beings can absorb and adopt new technologies like mobile devices and the cloud.
At first, social and business entrepreneurships seem at odd. Social entrepreneurship is about making the world a better place while business entrepreneurship is about making money.
However, to sustain a social initiative, Tirael had to acquire business skills such as finance, fund-raising and marketing. In order to effectively lead a , I hi-tech company, I had to find a deeper purpose, one which will have a positive effect on other people lives.
That's probably why we ended up chatting about a purpose-driven life.
