Tyra Banks almost walked away from her hit modeling reality series "America's Next Top Model."
“I've thought about turning the reins over,” she told the New York Post. "I had to be reminded that [the show] is my baby. A few years ago, I was willing to give my baby up for adoption!" Banks said she's hired help, a personal executive coach, to help her cope with the pressures. She said she's learning to delegate.
“It has decreased my stress more," she said.
"America's Next Top Model" has lived across two networks -- UPN and The CW -- aired 18 cycles, with the 19th on the way and seen its fair share of faces come and go from the judging panel. The most recent shake-up happened in 2012 when J. Alexander, Jay Manuel and Nigel Barker were dropped from the series. The upcoming Season 19, which will be college-themed, will feature new faces Rob Evans, Johnny Wujek, Bryanboy and returning judge Kelly Cutrone.
Wujek will serve as the photo shoot creative consultant and Bryanboy will mentor the models as well as serve as social media correspondent. Jontè, a dancer and choreographer known for his work with Beyonce, will also help the contestants with various challenges and photo shoots.
"We are excited about all of the new changes with ‘America's Next Top Model,' especially the addition of the viewer as the fourth judge,” Ken Mok, 'ANTM' executive producer, said in a statement. "Viewers will get to see the results of all of their votes, which girls stayed and which girls went home each week as a result of their votes, as well as all of the exciting stories and drama beyond the photos when the show airs in August."
