Tyshawn Taylor of Kansas Highlights NetScouts Basketball's Players of Week

NetScouts Basketball has selected High Point's center Cheyenne Parker as our Women's National Player of the Week for games ending the week of Sunday, Jan. 22.

Parker had an amazing game in the Panthers 80-65 win over Coastal Carolina. Parker had 14 points, 22 rebounds, 2 assists, 8 blocks and a steal all while shooting 5-of-7 (71%) from the field. The 6'4 sophomore from Queens, NY grabbed 13 offensive rebounds in High Point's only game of the week. The Panthers are undefeated in Big South Conference play as Parker is averaging 13.7 points and 12.3 rebounds for the season.

Kansas guard Tyshawn Taylor is our Men's National Player of the Week. Taylor, a 6'3 senior helped lead the Jayhawks to an 18-point win (92-74) over then-#3 Baylor to start the week. Taylor continues to quietly lead the Jayhawks (16-3, 6-0) through a brutal schedule. He scored 28 and dished out 6 assists in the Baylor game. He followed that up with a 22 point, 5 rebound, 4 assist clinic in a 69-66 win at Texas. Taylor averaged 25 points and 5 assists while shooting 58.3% (7-of-12) from behind the arc and 63% (17-of-27) from the field for the week.

Vanderbilt senior forward Jeffery Taylor is our International Player of the Week. The 6'7 native of Norrkoping, Sweden averaged 18 points, 5.5 rebounds and two assists in a 1-1 week for the Commodores. Taylor scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds in a 69-59 win over Alabama and tallied 19 points in a tough 78-77 loss against Mississippi State. For the week, Taylor shot 54.5% (12-of-22) from the field and 55.5% from long distance (5-of-9).
