The University of Texas at Austin is technically not a college. It's a university. That being said, what is going on?
Also known as UT, an Andy Warhol portrait of the late Farrah Fawcett is already on display there. Why does UT need two? So, let's just rip the second one off the wall of the mourning Ryan O'Neal, the love of her life, so UT can have two of them? Perhaps she has slightly different expressions on her face, her eyes, her lips, her brows? Both by Pittsburgh native, Andy Warhol, also deceased. Perhaps the portrait in dispute should go to The Andy Warhol Museum in his hometown.
If I were arbitrating this case, because it should never have gotten to a courtroom, I would rule Ryan gets to keep it and upon his death, it goes to UT. Arbitration is faster and cheaper than courtroom litigation.
Instead, a state supported institution is wasting millions of taxpayer dollars on this courtroom nonsense as a court trial gets underway. That's money that could go for student scholarships and a host of other more pressing uses. Not to mention the negative publicity for the university and for the state of Texas. UT is making the Lone Star State look heartless.
Just in time for Thanksgiving.
