UConn RA Doesn't Want You Have Any Fun In His Dorm

Derek The RA Doesn't Want You To Have Fun In His Dorm

The University of Connecticut men's basketball team plays for the NCAA championship Monday night, and Derek the RA doesn't want anyone celebrating in his dorm.

The RA -- or resident adviser -- sent an email out telling students on his floor not to go nuts near him tonight.

A screenshot of the full email was quickly circulated on Twitter.

The email reads, in part:

There are going to be a lot of RA's and police around North, if I wasn't an RA I would personally stay away from here tonight.

In the end, remember that the only reason you care about the game is:
a.) because they're wearing a UConn uniform
b.) you want an excuse to go wild

If it's the first one, you're cheering for laundry. Get excited if you want, but it's nothing worth getting in trouble for.

Derek the RA is evidently not much of a basketball fan.

UPDATE, 5:45 p.m.: Barstool Sports got a hold of a follow up email Derek sent after it started circulating online. You can read a portion below or go to Barstool for more:

So someone took the email I sent Saturday to heart and decided to Tweet it, so I’d like to clarify:

-I was trying to come off on the strict side so our floor wouldn’t be vandalized. That has been a problem here in the past (and was a problem Saturday night again) and could end in us getting an extra fee. That’s really the only point I was trying to get across, the rest was sarcasm.

-The laundry comment is a joke from Seinfeld. Next time I’ll include a link so you know that I’m kidding. We cheer for clothes
