'Undercover Boss: Abroad': Latte Art At Second Cup

Second Cup CEO Stacey Mowbray went undercover in her company Second Cup, a Canadian coffee chain, on the latest installment of "Undercover Boss: Abroad" (Mon., 8 p.m. ET on TLC). According to the episode description, Mowbray is trying reverse the losses of the past decade and take on the tough Canadian coffee market.

But as Second Cup is primarily franchise driven, it takes a softer approach to inspire change. And ultimately it was Mowbray who was inspired by some of what she saw at her franchisees. From simple things like Kyle creating "latte art" to add a touch of flair and memorability to his regular clientele's morning cup of joe, to major initiatives like donating unused food to food banks and even operating a catering business.

Ironically, the one corporate owned location was the one facing the most struggles. After seeing how they were challenged by equipment troubles, management and training issues, Mowbray made the tough decision to close the shop and re-evaluate. By taking what she learned on the road, it looks like this CEO has the right attitude to affect positive change for her company.
