President Barack Obama addressed the public Tuesday evening, vowing to explore a diplomatic option with regards to Syria's chemical weapons stockpile, while making the case for a military strike should that option fall through.

"If we fail to act, the Assad regime will see no reason to stop using chemical weapons," Obama said.
