A Virginia teen has pleaded guilty to providing material support to the Islamic State, a group also referred to as ISIS or ISIL, the FBI announced in a news conference Thursday.
Ali Shukri Amin of Woodbridge, Virginia, appeared in federal court Thursday. Amin, 17, tried to raise money and support in the United States for the terrorist group, and also relayed messages between Islamic State contacts.
Amin faces 15 years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 28.
