Both teams have already qualified for the quarterfinals after winning their first two Group C games. The USA will win the group with a victory or draw, due to a stronger goal differential. Costa Rica must win to earn the top place in the group.
Chris Wondolowski has scored five goals for the USA in wins over Belize and Cuba, already setting a single-Gold Cup record for the Americans.

Landon Donovan has scored from the penalty spot in each of the two USA victories in the Gold Cup.

The USA is riding a seven-game winning streak, which matches the nation's best run all-time.

Costa Rica will be looking for revenge after being on the wrong end of a 1-0 scoreline on March 22 in a World Cup qualifier played in a snow storm at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Colorado.

Costa Rica boasts four MLS players: Real Salt Lake's Alvaro Saborio, Columbus Crew's Jairo Arrieta, New York Red Bulls' Roy Miller and Portland Timbers' Rodney Wallace.

Michael Barrantes is Costa Rica's leading scorer in the competition, with two goals. Both were scored in a 3-0 rout of Cuba.

Costa Rica has yet to concede a goal in the Gold Cup, but only managed to defeat Belize 1-0 on an own goal. The USA topped Belize 6-1.
