Utah Man On Anti-Gay Hunger Strike Requests Pizza While Supreme Court Halts Same-Sex Marriages

The Utah man who made headlines by pledging to fast until his state nullified its same-sex marriage law is getting a (hopefully brief) reprieve.

Following news that the U.S. Supreme Court had halted gay marriages in Utah, Trestin Meacham took to Twitter, soliciting pizza from his followers:

Last week, Meacham claimed to have gone 12 days without food -- surviving only on water and an occasional vitamin -- and said he had already lost 25 pounds in the process.

“I cannot stand by and do nothing while this evil takes root in my home," the 35-year-old wrote on his blog. "Some things in life are worth sacrificing one’s health and even life if necessary. I am but a man, and do not have the money and power to make any noticeable influence in our corrupt system. Nevertheless, I can do something that people in power cannot ignore."
