Seattle-based uZoom, a 1:1 video streaming startup, announced today a new marketplace where users can pay for live footage from around the world -- or sell their own. The introduction of the new marketplace provides a space where any user can share things they care about and seek out new, interesting footage from others.

Current users have used the app to virtually step inside historic buildings in Germany, find a way into sold-out stadiums for sporting events, and check out footage from the Summer Games in Rio. The new marketplace offers a space for anyone to browse other user profiles for interesting footage and offer their own live footage for the community.

“We’ve expanded from choosing experiences based on location to selecting profiles based on interests,” says John Kueber, uZoom CEO. “Now anyone can browse hundreds of experiences to get a sense of the footage they’d be viewing, instead of clicking on a pin without a description.”

The shift for the startup prioritizes content over location by including profile descriptors that users create on their own. Once a profile is in place, users can edit and update their bios to reflect what they’re most likely to offer -- whether it’s footage from a trip to China, a look inside their home in London, or a face-to-face conversation about what it’s like to be a fashion blogger.

“Our users appreciate getting paid to share their experiences, and viewers enjoy being able to pay to ensure quality, one-of-a-kind streaming.” Today, broadcasters earn $0.48 per minute plus tips for live streaming.

Anyone can join uZoom. To become part of the global community and start viewing and sharing their “zooms”, download the app here. Learn more about uZoom at www.uzoom.me and visit their page on Product Hunt for more information and a promotion for new users.
